Con Edison is asking customers in northwest Brooklyn to conserve energy while company crews repair equipment. Con Edison has reduced voltage by 8 percent in the area to protect equipment and maintain service as crews make repairs.
The area is bounded by the East River on the north, by 3rd Street and 4th Street on the south, by South Oxford and 5th Avenue on the east, and by the East River on the west.
The area includes 68,000 customers in parts, or all, of the following neighborhoods: Dumbo, Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Boerum Hill, Red Hook, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, and Fort Green as well as Governors Island.
