Con Edison Crews Restoring Service More Than 24,000 Customers Initially Impacted

Con Edison crews are working to restore service to more than 18,300 of the customers across New York City and Westchester County who lost service this afternoon.

A brief, intense storm caused approximately 21,000 Staten Island customers to initially lose power. Most of those customers were located along the eastern shore.

The company is working to restore service to customers as quickly and safely as possible.

The Con Edison Outage Map has the most up to date restoration numbers.

The company urges members of the public to stay away from downed wires. They may be live. For your safety, we may guard downed wires until crews make repairs. Our personnel may be in unmarked cars but will always have Con Edison identification.

Con Edison continues to ask customers to use energy wisely during the heat. Conservation helps customers save money and helps keep service reliable. The company asks customers to refrain from using intensive appliances such as washers, dryers, and microwaves during peak hours.

Customers can report outages and check service restoration status at conEd.com/reportoutage, or with our mobile app for iOS or Android devices, or by calling 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633). When calling, customers should report whether their neighbors also have lost power. Customers who report outages will receive updates with their estimated restoration times as they become available.
