Con Edison Crews Restore Service to More than 10,000 Bronx Customers Affected by the Summer’s First Heatwave

Con Edison crews, working around the clock in in steamy temperatures, have restored service to more than 10,700 customers in the Bronx who have been affected by the heat and humidity.

The company is working to restore service to about 2,100 who remain out of service. Most of those who remain out of service are in the northern and central areas of the borough.

The heat, humidity and customers’ need to run their air conditioners to stay comfortable place stress on electric delivery equipment.

Con Edison has asked customers to use energy wisely during the heat. That helps customers save money and helps Con Edison keep service reliable. The company asks customers to refrain from using intensive appliances such as washers, dryers, and microwaves.

The company asks customers to limit unnecessary use of air conditioning. If you have two air conditioners, use only one and set it to the highest comfortable temperature.

Customers can report outages and check service restoration status at www.conEd.com/reportoutage, or with our mobile app for iOS or Android devices, or by calling 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633). When calling, customers should report whether their neighbors also have lost power. Customers who report outages will receive updates with their estimated restoration times as they become available.
